Last year, Charternet Web Solutions had the honor of redesigning their VI Watersports website and tackling their organic rankings with SEO management. We recently sat down with Steve to review his feedback and guage the impact to the business regarding the redesign process and marketing management.
Captain Nautica provides the most fun and exhilarating excursions in the Virgin Islands. Give us a little back story. What led you to want a redesign in the first place?
“We have had a website for quite some time. The old site turned out to be a somewhat informational and a place where customers could see a couple cool pictures, but not really anything of substance. They couldn’t book tours nor the key information needed regarding our excursions.”
In your opinion, what were the specific issues you wanted fixed with your redesign?
“We felt like we were losing a lot of potential business because the website didn’t point them in the right direction. Nor was the website being promoted very well for customers to find us on Google and other search engines.”
Now that your new website is launched, what has your experience been?
“Because of the website redesign and the SEO work that is being done, we have seen our web traffic increase a hundred fold. We have seen more and more website business and have heard from a lot of customers that they have found us by searching Google. Plus after doing some research on our site that was the key in deciding they want to do business with us. The overall affect has been tremendous. Definitely glad that we have the website up and going and changing. The SEO work has proved to be a great asset. We are so glad that we moved in this direction.”
From an analytics standpoint, we have seen a incredible change in traffic to the Captain Nautica site as well. They have increased an average of 35 spots in their Google, Yahoo and Bing rankings over the last year with a 95% of the key word rankings being new!
